One business per industry, per market
We take one client per industry, per market. Your competitor is not our client, and the playbook we build for you is never sold to them.
In short
- One client per industry, per market — if we are running your category in your city, your direct competitor cannot hire us.
- The strategy and playbook we build for you stays yours.
- It is the main reason we cap how many clients we take on at once.
- The market boundary is agreed in writing at the start, so both sides know what the exclusivity covers.
- Availability is checked on the strategy call before scope — book a call to find out whether your market is open.
What the policy actually says
We take one client per industry, per market. If we are running your campaigns in Brisbane, your direct Brisbane competitor cannot hire us. Your competitor is not our client, and nobody on the team is optimising two businesses against each other.
That means the strategy and playbook we build for you stays yours. The keyword research, the offer testing, the landing page structure and the campaign architecture are not repackaged and resold to the business you are trying to beat.
It is also the main reason we cap how many clients we take on at once. A policy like this only means something if the agency is willing to turn revenue away to keep it.
What "market" means here
A market is the city or region your business trades in. For most clients that is a single metropolitan area — Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide — and the exclusivity covers your category within it.
We agree that boundary in writing at the start of the engagement, alongside the KPIs, so there is no argument later about what the policy covers. If your business trades across several regions, the boundary is written to match.
We work nationally, with dedicated pages and local knowledge for the major cities and a number of regional centres, so the shortlist is about fit rather than postcode. The exclusivity still applies per industry and per market.
Why it matters for SEO and paid media
Search is a zero-sum contest in a fixed space. Two clients in the same category and city would be chasing the same rankings for the same commercial queries, and one of them would have to lose for the other to win. No agency can serve both honestly.
Paid media makes the conflict even more obvious. Two clients in the same auction would be bidding against each other, pushing each other's cost per click up and paying an agency for the privilege of doing it.
Exclusivity removes that conflict entirely. Every decision we make on your account is made to win your market, rather than balanced against what it might cost another client on the same books.
What it means for how we work
Turning competitors away limits how fast we can grow, which is a deliberate trade. It keeps the client list small enough that a senior strategist, content writer and technical specialist can stay properly across each account.
It is also part of why we can commit to KPIs in writing. When the team is not spread thin and nobody is working both sides of the same market, the work has a genuine chance of moving the numbers we agreed.
It is not a premium tier or a paid add-on. Exclusivity applies to every engagement, the same way month-to-month terms do — the full picture is on the Why Odin page.
How to check whether your market is open
Availability is checked on the strategy call, before any scope or pricing is discussed. We look at who we are already running in your category and your city, and we tell you plainly whether the slot is taken.
If it is taken, we will say so rather than sell you something adjacent. If it is open, the conversation moves on to the audit, the baseline and the KPIs we would commit to.
The fastest way to find out is to book a strategy call, or send us your industry and city and we will confirm before anything else.
